Driving Hours Tracker Terms of Use
Effective date: 28 August 2026
Apple Standard EULA: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Driving Hours Tracker app (“the app”). By downloading or using Driving Hours Tracker, you agree to these Terms.
If you are not old enough to agree to these Terms where you live, use the app only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Apple terms
Driving Hours Tracker is licensed through Apple’s App Store, not sold. Your use of the app is also governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Standard EULA”), which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
App Store purchases, subscriptions, billing, cancellation, and refunds are also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
These Terms supplement the Standard EULA and do not replace it. If these Terms conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA controls to the extent required by Apple or applicable law.
What Driving Hours Tracker does
Driving Hours Tracker helps learner drivers record practice drives that begin with Start and end with Finish.
Depending on the information available, the app can store elapsed time, a private route, an Estimated Distance, a Night Estimate, the selected car, descriptive practice details, personal goals, and review status. It can show History and totals, synchronize eligible finished records through private iCloud, create a privacy-reduced PDF practice record, and provide limited companion controls or status through widgets, Live Activities, and eligible CarPlay systems.
Apple Maps can be opened as an optional handoff after a drive starts. Driving Hours Tracker does not provide navigation, store an Apple Maps destination, or treat a planned route as recorded evidence.
Private practice record
Driving Hours Tracker is a private practice record. It is not an official logbook, licensing-authority service, driving-school service, supervision system, safety system, odometer, or legal-compliance tool.
The app does not verify:
- who was driving;
- whether supervision occurred;
- whether entered practice details are true;
- that a route, distance, time, or night classification is complete or accurate;
- that a device clock or location was never changed or interrupted;
- that a shared PDF was not altered outside the app; or
- that any authority will accept a record.
Requirements and accepted evidence vary. You are responsible for maintaining accurate records, following the rules that apply to you, and completing any required official forms.
Information you enter
You are responsible for the learner display name, optional permit or reference value, car names, personal goals, Weather, Roads, Skills, Notes, and other information you enter.
Do not enter passwords, payment-card information, Apple Account credentials, medical information, or other unnecessary sensitive information in names, references, or Notes.
You retain your rights in the content you create. You grant Apple and the app the limited technical permissions needed to store, synchronize, and display that content as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Apple and RevenueCat process purchase and entitlement information as described separately below.
Location, distance, and night estimates
Location is optional for time recording. If location permission is denied, revoked, interrupted, or unavailable, Start, elapsed-time recording, and Finish can still work, but route evidence and derived results may be partial, reduced in accuracy, unavailable, or unclassified.
An Estimated Distance is calculated from accepted recorded location samples. It is not an odometer reading, a verified travel distance, or a planned Apple Maps route. The app does not fill substantial location gaps with a straight line or claim that missing travel was captured.
A Night Estimate is a best-effort astronomical classification based on available time, location, and time-zone evidence. It is not a legal-night-hours determination. Time that cannot be classified reliably is shown as Unclassified.
Safe and lawful use
Use Driving Hours Tracker only where lawful and safe.
Do not interact with an iPhone while driving. Configure the app before moving, and use an available passenger, a safe stopped location, or permitted hands-free and vehicle controls where appropriate. Never let the app, a widget, Live Activity, CarPlay screen, notification, map, or recording issue distract you from driving.
Driving Hours Tracker does not provide driving instruction, emergency assistance, navigation guidance, road-safety advice, or legal advice. Follow applicable laws, licence conditions, supervisor requirements, road rules, vehicle instructions, and official guidance.
Do not rely on the app as the only record or safeguard for a legal, safety-critical, or time-critical obligation.
Acceptable use
You may use Driving Hours Tracker for lawful personal learner-driving record keeping.
You may not:
- misuse or interfere with the app or its services;
- attempt to bypass purchase, entitlement, or free-drive controls;
- use the app to violate applicable law or another person’s rights;
- enter unlawful, abusive, or harmful content; or
- use the app in a way that creates an unsafe driving distraction.
One free drive and Full Access
A new learner data scope begins with one free-drive allowance. Only a successfully saved Start authorized by that allowance changes it from available to used. A failed Start does not consume it.
Deleting a free drive, deleting the app, or using Erase Logbook Data and Start Over does not restore a used free-drive allowance.
Driving Hours Tracker may offer Weekly Full Access and Monthly Full Access as automatically renewing subscriptions. Both plans provide the same app access for different billing periods.
Monthly Full Access may include a seven-day introductory free trial for an eligible Apple Account when Apple displays that offer. Weekly Full Access has no introductory trial. Apple determines trial eligibility. A person who is not eligible for the Monthly trial is charged when the purchase is confirmed under the terms Apple displays.
Available products, current prices, currencies, billing periods, renewal terms, trial details, and eligibility are displayed from current Apple product information before purchase. Prices are not fixed by this document.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm a purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled in accordance with Apple’s applicable subscription terms.
Eligible subscriptions may support Apple Family Sharing. Family Sharing provides eligible Full Access only. It does not share a learner logbook, routes, cars, goals, PDFs, or the free-drive allowance.
If Full Access expires, is refunded, is revoked, or is no longer available through Family Sharing, an active drive is not interrupted and saved records remain available. Only a later Start may require an unused free-drive allowance or renewed Full Access.
Deleting Driving Hours Tracker does not cancel a subscription.
Managing purchases
Use Settings → Access → Manage Subscription in Driving Hours Tracker to open Apple’s subscription-management interface.
Use Settings → Access → Restore Purchases to ask Apple and the app’s purchase service to restore eligible access for the current App Store account or Family Sharing arrangement.
Apple processes payments, cancellations, and refund requests. We do not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account password.
Apple provides subscription-management guidance at If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple.
Refund eligibility and refund requests are handled through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Third-party and Apple services
Driving Hours Tracker depends on services supplied by Apple, including iOS, the App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, CloudKit, Core Location, MapKit and Apple Maps, widgets, Live Activities, CarPlay, system sharing, and system diagnostics.
Driving Hours Tracker uses RevenueCat to load subscription products, process purchase results, and determine Full Access. RevenueCat receives an automatically generated anonymous App User ID, purchase and entitlement information, and the limited technical metadata required to provide that service. The app does not display that identifier and does not send RevenueCat learner names, permit references, drives, routes, locations, distance, goals, cars, Notes, PDFs, or the free-drive allowance.
Your use of Apple and RevenueCat services is also subject to their applicable terms and policies.
Availability and changes
The app’s behaviour depends on the iPhone, iOS version, Apple Account, iCloud configuration, location permission, network availability, subscription state, available local proof of access, and Apple or RevenueCat service availability.
An active drive and locally available records do not require a continuous internet connection. Purchases, Restore Purchases, iCloud synchronization, Apple Maps content, and entitlement recovery on a new installation may require connectivity.
Location, background execution, map content, iCloud synchronization, widgets, Live Activities, and CarPlay are controlled partly by iOS, device settings, compatible hardware, and Apple services. They may be delayed, limited, interrupted, or unavailable.
We may update, improve, change, suspend, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary. We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available on every device, in every country, or through every Apple Account.
Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Privacy
The Driving Hours Tracker Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information.
Disclaimer and limitation
Driving Hours Tracker is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, subject to the warranties, remedies, limitations, and consumer rights contained in the Standard EULA and applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the app, including incomplete or lost records, interrupted location capture, inaccurate estimates, delayed synchronization, unavailable services, unsafe use, or rejection of a record by an authority.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, consumer rights, or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Deletion and ending use
You may stop using Driving Hours Tracker and delete the app at any time.
Deleting an individual drive also deletes its stored route and derived results from the current logbook. There is no app-provided undo or Recently Deleted area. A privacy-minimal synchronization tombstone may remain to prevent an older offline device from restoring the deleted drive.
Erase Logbook Data and Start Over removes the current learner logbook locally and from private iCloud where possible. It does not cancel or refund a subscription, change Full Access, or restore a used free drive. Old offline devices may require time to receive the deletion.
Deleting the app normally removes its local app container. It does not:
- cancel an App Store subscription;
- guarantee deletion of data that already reached private iCloud;
- delete purchase and service records maintained by Apple or RevenueCat; or
- recall a PDF that was already created or shared.
An active drive or other data that has not synchronized may be lost when the app is deleted, the device is erased, or the device becomes unavailable.
Subscription cancellation must be completed separately through Apple’s subscription-management interface.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the app, its services, business model, or legal requirements change.
The revised Terms will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
