Frequently asked questions
Where is my household data stored?
Cleaning Schedule can store a household locally on the iPhone or in your Apple iCloud account.
A household you own can sync through your iCloud account. Accepting a household invitation gives you access to the shared household’s data.
Cleaning Schedule does not operate a separate household-data server.
Why have changes not appeared on another iPhone?
Changes sync automatically through iCloud, but may take time to appear. Keep both iPhones connected to the internet with iCloud available. Delays can also depend on device settings or Apple services. Cleaning Schedule does not have a manual sync button or show an exact last-synced time.
What is the difference between Apple Family Sharing and household sharing?
They are separate features.
Apple Family Sharing may provide eligible subscription access to family members.
Cleaning Schedule household sharing uses a separate invitation to give someone access to household data.
Receiving one does not automatically provide the other. Each participant needs active Pro access from their own subscription or an eligible Family-shared subscription to make changes in a shared household, such as assigning or completing tasks. Pro access does not give a member the organiser’s permission to invite others.
Why is a shared household read-only?
A shared household may become read-only when:
- Pro access is inactive or can no longer be verified;
- the Apple Account or iCloud identity is unavailable;
- an accepted participant profile is still being created;
- household deletion is pending; or
- household membership has ended.
Check the message shown in the app for the action available in your situation.
I accepted an invitation but cannot edit anything. What should I do?
Confirm that:
- the invitation was opened using the intended Apple Account;
- iCloud and iCloud Drive are available;
- the iPhone has a network connection;
- Cleaning Schedule shows active Pro access; and
- the app has completed creation of your household member profile.
If an eligible purchase or Family-shared subscription is missing, follow the restoration steps below.
Why did I not receive a reminder?
In Cleaning Schedule, open Settings and turn on Notifications in the Preferences section.
If iOS notification permission was denied, turning this on opens the app’s iPhone settings. Allow notifications there, then return to Cleaning Schedule and check the toggle.
Notification delivery also depends on iOS scheduling and device conditions. Notifications are not guaranteed, and the task list inside the app remains the primary record.
A reminder may also be removed after a task is completed, cancelled, covered by a household vacation, removed from the household, or made ineligible by membership or Pro access changes.
How do I restore Pro access?
If the app does not show active Pro access:
- Open Settings.
- Tap View benefits in the Cleaning Schedule Pro card at the top.
- Tap Restore at the bottom of the subscription screen. If products cannot be loaded, the alternative screen labels this action Restore Purchases.
Use the App Store account associated with the purchase or eligible Apple Family Sharing access, with an internet connection available.
When Pro is already active, Settings shows your plan and Manage Subscription instead of the View benefits card; there is no separate restore button in Settings.
How do I manage or cancel a subscription?
When Pro is active, open Settings and tap Manage Subscription in the Cleaning Schedule Pro section below Family. This opens Apple’s subscription-management interface.
If the app shows View benefits instead, manage the subscription through Apple’s settings using the link below. A family member receiving shared access cannot cancel the purchaser’s subscription for them.
You can also follow Apple’s instructions at If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple.
Deleting Cleaning Schedule does not cancel a subscription.
How do I request a refund?
Apple processes App Store payments and refund requests.
Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and follow Apple’s instructions. Cleaning Schedule support cannot directly approve an App Store refund.
What happens when Pro expires?
A solo household follows the Free-plan limits.
A shared household becomes read-only for the participant whose Pro access is inactive. Their access to view the household is retained, but changes such as assigning or completing tasks require Pro. Restoring eligible Pro access can allow changes again without creating a new household share, provided membership and iCloud access remain valid.
How do I delete my household data?
If you are the organiser, open Settings → Members in the Family section and choose Delete household.
Confirmed deletion:
- removes the household data;
- ends household sharing;
- removes participant access; and
- has no app-provided undo or restoration.
Deletion from iCloud may remain pending until iCloud confirms it.
If you are a member rather than the organiser, use Settings → Members → Leave household to end participation.
Deleting the app alone does not delete household data from iCloud or end participation in a household share.
How do I delete local app data?
Deleting Cleaning Schedule removes its local app container and device-local preferences.
This does not automatically:
- delete household data in iCloud;
- end a household share;
- cancel a subscription; or
- delete purchase records held by Apple or RevenueCat.
Use the appropriate Leave household, Delete household, or Apple subscription-management action first.
Does Cleaning Schedule track me?
Cleaning Schedule does not contain advertising, cross-app tracking, or custom product-usage analytics.
RevenueCat processes the anonymous purchase and entitlement information required for subscriptions. Apple may provide aggregate App Store and diagnostic information according to your Apple privacy settings.
See the Cleaning Schedule Privacy Policy for details.
