Frequently asked questions

Where are my captures saved?

When you choose Save to Photos, the Microscope app saves the capture to an album named Microscope in the Photos app. The capture remains under your control in Photos.

Why does the Microscope app request Camera access?

Camera access is required to show, align, and capture the live microscope view. Camera frames are processed on your iPhone and are not uploaded to us.

Why does the Microscope app request Photos access?

Photos access is requested when you choose to save a capture. It lets the Microscope app create or reuse the Microscope album and save the photo or video.

Why does the Microscope app request Microphone access?

Microphone access is optional. It is requested only when Record audio with video is enabled in Settings.

How do I change permissions?

Open the iPhone Settings app, choose Apps, choose Microscope app, and update Camera, Photos, or Microphone access.

The camera did not start. What should I do?

  1. Confirm that Camera access is enabled for the Microscope app.
  2. Return to the Microscope app and choose Try Again.
  3. If the issue continues, close and reopen the Microscope app.
  4. Restart the iPhone if another app appears to be holding the camera.

How do I restore Microscope app Pro?

Open the Microscope app Settings and use the available purchase restore action. Use the same Apple Account that originally made the purchase.

Deleting and reinstalling the app does not cancel an active subscription or erase a lifetime purchase because Apple maintains those purchase records.

How do I manage or cancel a subscription?

Manage subscriptions in your Apple Account under Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Apple provides current instructions at Manage or cancel subscriptions.

How do I request a refund?

Purchases are billed and managed by Apple. Refund eligibility and requests are handled at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I delete my data?

Delete captures in Photos. Deleting the Microscope app removes its local preferences and temporary app data. The Microscope app has no user account or developer-operated cloud media library.
