Microscope Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Microscope app (“the app”). By downloading or using the Microscope app, you agree to these Terms.
Apple terms
The Microscope app is licensed through Apple’s App Store, not sold. Your use of the app is also governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Standard EULA”), which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
App Store purchases, subscriptions, billing, cancellation, and refunds are also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
These Terms supplement the Standard EULA and do not replace it. If these Terms conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA controls to the extent required by Apple or applicable law.
What the Microscope app does
The Microscope app provides camera controls that help you align, view, photograph, and record content through a compatible optical microscope and iPhone eyepiece adapter.
You are responsible for obtaining compatible equipment, mounting the iPhone securely, following the equipment manufacturer’s instructions, and using the app safely.
License and acceptable use
Subject to these Terms and the Standard EULA, you may use the Microscope app for lawful personal, educational, or professional purposes.
You may not misuse the app, interfere with its operation, attempt to bypass purchase or entitlement controls, or use it in violation of applicable law or another person’s rights.
Your captures
You retain your rights in the photos, videos, and audio you create with the Microscope app. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to capture, store, use, and share that content.
The Microscope app does not provide a cloud backup service. You are responsible for managing and backing up captures saved in Photos.
Microscope app Pro purchases
The Microscope app may offer:
- an automatically renewing subscription; and
- a one-time lifetime purchase.
Available products, prices, billing periods, and any trial or offer terms are displayed by Apple before purchase. Subscription access continues for the applicable billing period and renews automatically until cancelled through your Apple Account. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
A lifetime purchase is a non-consumable in-app purchase associated with the Apple Account used to buy it. Product availability and restoration are subject to Apple’s App Store services and terms.
Apple processes payments, cancellations, and refund requests. We do not receive your payment-card details.
No medical or safety-critical use
The Microscope app is a general imaging and documentation tool. It is not a medical device, diagnostic system, calibrated measurement instrument, or substitute for professional judgment.
Do not rely on the app for medical diagnosis, treatment, laboratory certification, public-safety decisions, or any use where an inaccurate, unavailable, delayed, or lost image could cause harm.
Availability and changes
Camera capabilities, capture formats, and performance depend on the iPhone, iOS version, permissions, connected equipment, lighting, storage, and other system conditions.
We may update, improve, change, suspend, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary. We do not guarantee that every feature or capture format will be available on every device.

Disclaimer and limitation
The Microscope app is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, subject to the warranties, remedies, limitations, and consumer rights in the Standard EULA and applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including lost captures, lost data, equipment damage, interruption, or inability to use the app. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Ending use
You may stop using the Microscope app at any time and delete the app. Subscription cancellation must be completed separately through your Apple Account.
Your right to use the app may end if you materially violate these Terms or the Standard EULA.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the app, its business model, or legal requirements change. Revised Terms will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
